Review of The Tillamook Ice Cream Parlor, Lake Oswego, Oregon by Judi Singleton

37 A Ave Lake Oswego, OR 97034 Lake Oswego Ice Creamery & Restaurant opened its doors in 1985. We are located in a charming 90-year historic building that formerly housed "The Oswego State Bank" and later became the home of "KFC". Since opening, the Lake Oswego Ice Creamery & Restaurant has been serving great food and locally made ice cream, as well as creating jobs for the community. We pride ourselves in the quality of people that we hire to serve you. We proudly serve only the freshest ingredients and local produce as evidenced by our fresh burger patties and locally made soups. Our burger patties are made from 100% ground chuck and never frozen. Only local produce is used in creating our soups, which are made daily. Additionally, we rotate our ice cream flavors to add the newest seasonal offerings. Our goal is to ensure each customer has prompt, courteous service with a smile, delicious home cooked meals that are made to order, and to create an experience that customers want to share time and again with family and friends. Many of our long-standing customers have been coming here since they were children and now bring their children and grandchildren. Our wish is for new and existing customers to pass the experience on to their future generation. We feel very fortunate to be part of the community and look forward to providing every customer with a positive experience. Come join us and be a part of our family. 4 friends and I visited Tillamook Ice Cream Parlor in Lake Oswego, Oregon this week. This restaurant used to be a weekly affair for me, friends and family. I had not visited in about three years. I felt quite nosologic about this place. So I suggested we go for the banana split and a Ruben sandwich.Which I felt was way overpriced at almost $10. I wished as soon as we got there I had kept my mouth shut. The historic building that houses the ice cream parlor is well maintained, however, the bright red booths are broken down with butt prints of a bygone era. The whole place has gone to seed, as my grandma, used say. We ordered a banana split to start with, the perky waitress assured us we could have any flavors of ice cream we wanted, when the split came slightly melted and bedraggled, it was the traditional vanilla, strawberry, and eh disappointed to say the least. We then ordered Ruben sandwiches all around. The sandwiches were greasy affairs only offered with fries some more grease. No offers of green salad or something healthy. I have gone to this establishment for 15+years. Unfortunately, the staff has not represented the company well today. The Manager REFUSED to allow my friends sit at a booth to have lunch. She offered a table because we were a smaller party. When I asked again for a booth she simply said no. Then she told me, if I don't take the table, they would have room for us.NO ONE else was there. I will also let every person I know how unprofessional the staff was to me. The service was really poor. The food was bad. The booths broken down and uncomfortable. An atmosphere of we do not care about this place, What saved the day was a good sense of humor, good friends, and a perspective of what is important. This place obviously needs is a remodel, a caring owner/manager. Join our site and get a 25% first-time- buyer coupon and then receive a VIP discount every month thereafter
