I had friends in from out of town this weekend and we went to Alexis Restaurant, Portland, Oregon. Nothing fancy here the inside of the tavern has high ceilings, the food is plain home made authentic Greek food. It is delicious. Our friends loved it and I was so glad we chose to take them there instead of someplace fancier. We all had a great time went away stuffed. We all had a wonderful time. The server was friendly and efficient. The wait time was short. The place was packed but we did not have to wait for our food. If you like Greek food and want to entertain friends I would recommend this to anyone. Take a look at their website for photos of the food, building and staff.
General Info
The "extensive, mouthwatering" Hellenic menu including "a percentage of the best calamari around" is "as close to home Greek cooking as it gets" and reasonably priced at this "made" Old Town diner run by a friendly and efficient staff; however "very little to take a gander at all things considered", the inside brags high roofs and a rural "Greek" feel – and the Friday and Saturday night belly dancing will keep you entertained. My favorite is the souvlaki lamb with a greek salad and homemade greek bread
